BTS’s Jungkook Releases Self-Composed Song “My You” For The Group’s Anniversary, And His Message To ARMYs Is Heartwarming
It was actually a song teased last year.
June 13 is a huge day for ARMYs because it was the day that BTS first debuted back in 2013. Since then, the members have never stopped bringing joy to the lives of ARMYs, and a day doesn’t go past where they haven’t put a smile on the faces of their fans.
Like every year, BTS has always celebrated their anniversary through FESTA and if the content wasn’t enough, the anniversary also coincided with the group’s comeback with the album PROOF.
When the schedule for the album was released, there was a “?” on June 13, and nobody knew what to expect.
During a live broadcast, the members also hinted that there was some special content coming, and it sent the internet into meltdown.
Well, it seems like there might be one option, and it’s from BTS’s maknae Jungkook.
At 11 PM (KST) on June 12, the BTS personal Twitter page posted an image with the caption “22.06.13 00:00 AM.” In the picture was Jungkook’s rabbit emoji with the word “Hi,” and nobody knew what was going on.
At 12 AM (KST) on June 13, the secret was out. On the official BTS Twitter page, the words “613 Song For ARMY My You by Jung Kook of BTS” was posted with a picture of Jungkook and a link…

When the link was clicked, it took ARMY to the bangtan.tistory website, which has only been used a few times in the past. It turns out that the page was actually a new song from the group’s member that had been released to celebrate the group’s anniversary, and it was called “My You.”
Along with the lyrics, there was a special video with the song and words against some beautiful backgrounds, whether it was a chat room, sky, or just Jungkook himself.
Along with the song, Jungkook left a very special message for ARMYs, sharing the meaning behind the song and where his thought process came from.
He explained that he had feelings and thoughts that he wanted to showcase but as it might seem sad, he wanted the words to be beautiful.
These emotions that come to mind when I think of (ARMY) are so overwhelming that sometimes, I had the thoughts of ‘What if all of these things disappear? Or what if all of this is a dream?’
He also explained how important it was for him because it was a song written for ARMY and showed his love for the group. For Jungkook, he wanted to create a song for ARMY, those listening, and even himself that would be a strength and make everyone “More hopeful, shine by ourselves, and gain energy.”
He ended by thanking ARMYs and wishing to make even more memories with fans.
Of course, when the song was shared, ARMYs couldn’t get over the track, sharing their excitement and love for the beautiful track that was so important to Jungkook. Listening to the words showed how much thought and love the idol had put into the song.

Many also pointed out that it wasn’t actually the first time they’d heard the song.
Last September, Jungkook had a special broadcast for his birthday. During the live, he shared a melody and lyrics to a song he was writing. It seems to have the same melody and means that it’s a gift Jungkook has been working on for a long time.
Although only Jungkook has released a song, it seems like there could be more on the way from the other members. ARMYs will just have to wait but, if they are all as beautiful as Jungkook’s, it will definitely be emotional AF.
